Course outline

Study a degree in dietetics to become a trusted expert in nutrition, empowering individuals and communities to live healthier lives through evidence-based, personalised care. Dietitians work in diverse roles, helping people of all ages and health goals. Study in our purpose-built kitchen and learn from Accredited Practising Dietitians with strong industry connections. Develop an understanding of chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry before undertaking advanced study in human nutrition and dietetics. In the final phases of your degree, you’ll complete at least 20 weeks of full-time professional placement across various sites in Queensland and interstate, gaining industry connections and applying your skills in practical settings. In Australia, all dietitians are nutritionists, but only dietitians can provide medical nutritional therapy to individual patients. Graduates of this degree will hold both qualifications. This degree provides the flexibility to advance your professional practice skills or to complete a dissertation in your final year of study. Experience a supportive culture throughout your studies with cohort groups on social media, student reps, a peer-mentoring program, and additional support from year level advisers.
